Vestry, 25 March 1846

At a General Vestry held at the Vestry Room at Church on Wednesday the twenty fifth day of March 1846 for the purpose of nominating fit persons to serve the office of Overseer of the poor for the year ensuing.

Present Revd William Walkinshaw McCreight in the Chair, Messrs Samuel Greaves Dudley, David Thomas Willis, William John Jones, Thomas Burgess, John Woodward, Thomas Edwin, Samuel Cole, Alfred Barton, Robert Corbett, John Morecroft, George Maydon, John Curtis, Daniel Grace, Thomas Morecroft.

The Accounts of the Overseers, Churchwardens & Surveyors of Winslow were produced examined and allowed.

It was proposed seconded and resolved that Mr Thomas Lomath and the Devisees of the late Mrs Bridget Yeates be required to pay the Arrears of ground rent due for their houses adjoining the Church yard.

A church rate was granted at three pence in the pound.

It was resolved that in case the Amount subscribed towards the expence of recasting one of the bells should be insufficient for that purpose the deficiency should be paid out of the Church rate.

The following persons were nominated as fit persons to serve the office of Overseer of the poor
Mr Richard Sharp, Mr Samuel Cole, Thomas Edwin, Charles Monk, James Brooks, John Mayne, William Matthews, George King.

William Selby Lowndes esquire, Mr Samuel Cole and Mr John Bull were appointed Surveyors of the highways for the township of Winslow for the year ensuing.
