In the name of god Amen The xth day of June Anno D(omi)ni 1610 I John Abbott of Winslow
in the County of Bucks, Husbandman, being sick in body, but in p(er)fect memory, god
be thanked, doe make this my last will and testament, in m(a)n(ne)r and forme following
First I bequeath my Soul unto Allmighty God, who hath Created mee and redeem[ed]
me by his Sonn Jesus Christ, by whose merritts onely, I hope to be saved, and my body
to be decently buried in the Churchyard of Winslow before named, Also concerning
my worldly goods I give unto the three Children of my brother Henry Abbot, ten sh[illings]
to be equally devided among them, It(e)m I give unto the three Children of Francis [...]
my brother in law ten shillings amongst them, Item I give unto the Children of
William Edmonds my m(aste)r, twenty shillings among them It(e)m I give unto the men[?]
& maids my fellow servants five shillings between them, It(e)m I give five shillings [for]
the repaire of the bells, and five shillings to the ringers att my burial, The rest
of my goods unbequeathed I leave unto my Maister William Edmonds of Wins[low]
whom I make my Executor In witnesse wherof I have hereunto sett my hand
and seale the day and yeare first above written, these being witnessed by
Rob(er)t Mainwaring and Robert Done.

Notes

John Abbot was buried at Winslow on 27 June 1610. Despite the description in his will he was evidently an unmarried live-in farm servant in the household of William Edmonds (like Agnes Udden, d.1608). He does not seem to have been a native of Winslow.
