In the name of God Amen I Henry Dover of Little Horwood in the County of Bucks yeoman beinge weake of body but of perfect memory thanks bee given to God Doe Constitute ordaine and make this my Last Will and Testament in writeinge in manner and forme following imprimis I Com(m)end my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator trustinge assuredly in the merritts of Jesus Christ my blessed redeemer to have free remission and pardon of all my sinnes and my body I Com(m)end to the Earth to bee decently buryed att the discrec(i)on of my Executrix hereafter named And for all the worldly goods which itt hath pleased God to bestow upon mee I doe give devise and bequeath the same in such sort as hereafter is Expressed Item I doe give devise and bequeath unto my Eldest sonne Henry Dover the sum(m)e of Tenne pounds of Lawfull English money to bee paid unto him by my Executrix hereafter named When he shall accomplish the age of Twenty and one yeares I doe give and bequeath unto my sonne Anthony Dover the sum(m)e of five pounds of Lawfull English money to bee paid unto him by my Executrix hereafter named when hee shall accomplish the age of Twenty and one yeares I doe give and bequeath unto my sonne Francis Dover the sum(m)e of Tenne pounds of Lawfull English money to bee paid unto him by my Executrix hereafter named when hee shall accomplish the age of Twenty and one yeares I doe give and bequeath unto my Daughter Katherine Dover the sum(m)e of Tenne pounds of Lawfull English money to bee paid unto her by my Executrix hereafter named when she shall accomplish the age of Twenty and one yeares I doe give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Dover the sum(m)e of Tenne pounds of Lawfull English money to bee paid unto her by my Executrix hereafter named when she shall accomplish the age of Twenty and one yeares All the rest of my goods and Chattells whatsoever unbequeathed (my debts beeinge paid my Legacies performed and my funerall Expences discharged I doe give devise and bequeath the same unto my welbeloved wife Katherine Dover whome I doe Constitute ordaine and make the full and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament In Wittnes whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seale the sixteenth day of July in the \eighteenth/ yeare of His Majestyes Reign that nowe is Anno D(omi)ne one Thousand six hundred Forty two The marke of Henry Dover Sealed published and delivered in the p(re)sence of John Harris cl(e)r(k) The marke of John Harrod
Memorandum That whereas Edmond Thornton of Drayton P(ar)slow standeth bound unto mee with other sureties in one Obligac(i)on for the full payment of Fowerscore pounds of Lawfull English money if the said money Cannot bee obtenied and Recovered by Law upon the said bond Then my true intent and meaninge is that my last will and Testament shalbee utterly voyd and of none Effect otherwise to stand abide and bee in full force and virtue Witnesse to the same John Harris cl(e)r(k)
This Will was proved att London the five and Twentieth day of October in the yeare of our Lord one Thousand six hundred and Fifty Eight before the Judges for probate of wills granting Administrations \by/ the oath of Katherine Curson al(ia)s Dover the relict of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said will To whome Administration of the goods Chattells and debts of the said deceased was Committed shee beinge first sworne by Commission well and truly to Administer the same
