[translation from Latin]  In the name of God amen.  On the penultimate day of September in the year of the Lord 1506 I Robert Elyat of Shipton of healthy mind and memory make my will in this way.  First I bequeath my soul to God, the Blessed Mary and all his saints, and my body to be buried in the churchyard of St Laurence of Wynslow.  Item I bequeath to the high altar two bushels of barley.  Item I bequeath to St Laurence one bushel of barley.  Item I bequeath to the mother church of St Albans two bushels of barley.  Item I bequeath to the Crucifix in the high place [in loco s(u)blimat’] in the church of St Laurence aforesaid vij s.  Item I bequeath to each altar of the aforesaid church one bushel of barley.  Item I bequeath to the bells in the peal [in classico] viij d.  Item I bequeath to the torches xij d.  The residue indeed of all my goods not bequeathed above I give and bequeath to Agnes my wife, and I ordain, make and appoint Agnes herself my sole true executrix (and) Thomas Elyat my brother & Thomas Glenestr(e) supervisors to carry out this last will of mine as shall seem best to them for the prosperity of my soul and the souls of all the faithful deceased.  Witnesses: curate George Brown, Jo(hn) Shrewod clerk & others in the place, day & year stated above.
