In etc. On 4 August AD 1464 I Richard Elyot of Shepton in the parish of Wynselowe, sound of mind etc. First I bequeath my soul to God etc. and my body to be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of Wynselowe aforesaid. Item I bequeath to the high altar 2d. Item I bequeath to the image of St Laurence 1d. Item to the light of the holy cross 2d. Item to the repair of the torches 2d. The residue etc. I give and bequeath to my executors. And John Elyot my father and Juliana my wife I ordain, make and appoint my executors to dispose, etc.

Notes

Richard's father was probably the John Elyot whose will was proved in 1479. The very small bequests suggest that he did not have much property of his own.
