In etc. On 8 September AD 1479 I William Eversdon of Wynselowe, sound of mind, make etc., and my body to be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of Wynselowe aforesaid. Item I bequeath to the high altar 4 bushels of barley. Item to the altar of the Blessed Mary in the church 1 bushel of barley. Item to the Blessed Mary in purification 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of the Blessed Nicholas 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Thomas the martyr 1 bushel of barley. Item I bequeath for the repair of the torches ij s. Item I wish that they should ordain or the ordinaries should hold a trental. Item I bequeath to the mother church of St Albans iiij d. The residue indeed etc. I give and bequeath to my executors, and Isabel my wife and Walter Palmer I ordain, make and appoint my executors, to dispose for the salvation of my soul as to them etc.

Notes

In the last entry in the court books of 1460, William makes his wife Isabel joint tenant of a cottage and 1 acre of land, and surrenders a messuage and virgate in a retirement agreement with his son John [WMCB pp.708-9]. John predeceased William in 1478.
