Notes

Matthew Ginger was buried on 4 May 1698. He was the son of Richard Ginger and his wife Mary, who died in 1696. His sister Ann was baptised on 16 Feb 1674/5. The baptisms of Matthew and Michael are not recorded at Winslow, and they were probably born before their father moved to Winslow. Richard Ginger, who was buried on 2 Jan 1708/9, applied for a licence to be a schoolmaster, and wrote the wills of many people but did not leave one himself. He could not witness his son's will as he was a beneficiary, but he appears to have written it, as the wording is exactly the same as the will of Anne Scott, made in 1703, which is in Richard's writing.
