In etc. 24 April 1484 I Robert Jay of Shypton and the parish of Wynselowe sound etc. make my will etc. First I bequeath my soul to God etc. Item I bequeath to the high altar 2 bushels of barley and to the other altars in the church 3 bushels of barley. Item to the light of the holy cross 1 bushel of barley. Item to the torches 2 bushels of barley. Item to the repair of a certain portable breviary [portiforii] 6s 8d. Item I bequeath to the chaplain of Holy Trinity of Wescote 12d. Alice Jay was the daughter of John Evresdon, d.1438 (WMCB p.663).
Wescote = Westcott in Waddesdon parish, which had a chapel of the Holy Trinity in the late 14th century according to the VCH. That was probably Robert Jay's original home as the surname does not occur in Winslow before him.
