Notes

Geoffrey Lowndes was appointed Vicar of Swanbourne in 1564 and resigned in 1578 when Thomas Lowndes, apparently his son, took over. So far his relationship to the Lowndes family of Winslow is unclear; Thomas' brother Robert could be Robert Lowndes of Winslow who had a daughter named Joan but numerous other children too. Geoffrey was buried at Swanbourne on 17 Sep 1580. Joan's burial is not recorded.

Alice Lowndes married Ralph Carter (see below) at Swanbourne in 1573. Another daughter Joan must have married Augustine Deverell, and Thomas and Robert Lowndes are the others who make up "my four chyldren".
