In, etc. 12 November 1457 I John Marchall of Wynselowe, sound of mind and of healthy memory although sick in body, make my will in this manner. First I bequeath my soul to almighty God and the blessed virgin Mary and all his saints, and my body to be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of St Laurence of Wynselowe. Item I bequeath to the high altar 4d. Item to the altar of St Mary 2d. Item to the altar of St Mary in purification 1d. Item to the altar of St Nicholas 1d. Item to the altar of St Thomas 1d. Item I bequeath to the torches 4d. The residue indeed of all my goods not bequeathed I give and bequeath to Isabel my wife and John Wayn, and I make them my executors so that they may arrange and dispose for the salvation of my soul, and for the souls of all the faithful deceased, as seems most expedient to them.
