Will of Robert Myller, 1468 (proved 1469)

In etc. On 16 December [1468] I Robert Myller of Wynselowe parish, sound of mind, make my will etc. First I bequeath my soul to God the father almighty, the Blessed Virgin Mary and all his saints, and my body to be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of Wynselowe aforesaid. Item I bequeath to the high altar 2 bushels of barley. Item I bequeath to the altar of the Blessed Mary in the church 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Mary in purification the same amount. Item to the light of St Nicholas 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Thomas the martyr 1 bushel of barley. Item to the light of the holy cross 1 bushel of barley. Item to the repair of the torches 1 bushel of malt. The residue indeed of all my goods etc. I give and bequeath to my executor and John my son I ordain, make and appoint my executor, and Roger my brother to be overseer, to dispose for the salvation of my soul as will seem most expedient to them. Given etc.

Notes

Robert Miller held Shepecotecroft, Monkeswyk, 9 acres of land and a cottage with curtilage in 1448 (WMCB p.638). These holdings are mentioned in 1556 as being in the hands of the widow of Seth Grant alias Miller (d.1547) who was presumably a descendant of Robert. John Miller, presumably Robert's son, died in 1500.
