Notes

Joseph Turney was aged 73 when he died. He was born at Soulbury and came to Winslow via Granborough. In 1871 he was living in Tinkers End with his wife Ann (also born at Soulbury) and five of the children named in the will, all born at Soulbury too. In 1881 only Elizabeth was still at home, along with her two children, listed as Louis aged 9 and Nellie aged 6.

Ann died in 1888 (see her administration). In 1891 William, Ann jr and Thomas were all living with Joseph as well as Elizabeth and Ellen. The house seems to have been in Short Lane (now demolished). Thomas was still there in 1901, by which time he was married with 4 children.
