Robert Eden and Richard Benbow amerced 6d each for laying wood in the public road to the common nuisance, and for obstructing a watercourse. They were ordered to remove the wood in 10 days on forfeit of 5s.

Thomas Toms and Ralph Noone (amerced?) for laying dung in the public road. They were ordered to remove it in 10 days on pain of 1s.

John Robinson and Widow Gibbs for the same. They were ordered to remove it in 10 days on pain of 1s.

Nicholas Steevens and Elizabeth his wife surrendered half a messuage in Granborrough and half a close, now in the possession of Daniel Paine. To the use of Francis Dorsett, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

Henry Wyatt and Ann his wife surrendered a messuage in the Cow Markett, the land of Thomas Gubbins south. To the use of Anthony Deely, who sought to be admitted tenant. Fine 5s.

Edmund Paxton gent. surrendered 4 acres of land in Winslow and Shipton:

William Spooner surrendered 4<½> acres of land in Winslow:

To the following uses: the half-acre in Demerum Feild to William for his life, then to Robert Spooner his son. The 3 acres and 3 Leyes to Robert's use. William and Robert sought to be admitted tenants. Rent [blank], fine 1s. Robert sought to be admitted to the 3 acres and 3 Leyes. Rent [blank], fine 8s.

Edmund Paxton gent. and John Norman surrendered all Edmund's lands in the parish of Winslow containing 40 acres (except a land at Hawkslow shooting to Addington Hedge, the land of William Lowndes gent. south). 3 acres are in the Home Close near the messuage in which Edmund now lives. To the use of Thomas Blake of Ambersden gent., who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine £4.

[f.1v] Margaret Spooner wife of William Spooner and Sarah Partridge spinster, through John Nonne gent. her/their attorney, and Thomas Tomlyn and Elizabeth his wife surrendered 1 acre of land in New Mill Feild in a furlong called Mill Furlonge or Bubbles Gore abutting to Buckingham highway, the land of William Wyatt south. To the use of Anthony Deely, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 2s.

William East and Katherine his wife and David East and Alice his wife surrendered a messuage or cottage in Winslow in which William and David now live. To the use of Ann Atwood of Winslow widow, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

William Gyles sr surrendered a messuage in Winslow with a stable and compluvium late in the occupation of William Varney, now in William Gyles' occupation, with freedom of ingress etc. through the Yard at all seasonable times. To the use of Martha Norman, wife of Samuel Norman, and the heirs of her body by Samuel. In default of such issue, to Joseph Gyles son of William Gyles. Martha sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

Benjamin Griffin and Ann his wife surrendered 3 leys containing 1 acre in Winslow Feild, the land of William Gyles jr east, Mr Townsend west. To the use of the said William Gyles, who sought to be admitted tenant. Fine 2s.

William Gyles sr surrendered a messuage in which Thomas Forster now lives containing a shop, a cellar, 2 chambers and a hall, with a little stable in the occupation of John Kelly. And 1 acre of land in New Mill Feild abutting on Clarkes furlong Head Lay and shooting on the Headland of William Spooner. To the use of Benjamin Griffin and Ann his wife and their heirs legitimately procreated, and for want of such issue to Daniel Gyles son of William Gyles. Rent [blank], fine 7s.

Richard Worsely surrendered a parcel of land containing 4 perches in a close now in the occupation of Edmund Paxton. To the use of Edmund Paxton, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine [blank].
Edmund surrendered a parcel of land containing 4 perches in a close adjoining Richard's messuage. To the use of Richard, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine [blank].

Sarah Partridge spinster through John Nonne gent. her attorney sought admission to the following lands in Winslow:

They came into the lord's hands on the surrender of Thomas Tomlyn and Elizabeth his wife. Sarah sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine [blank], fealty respited.
[This ratified a mortgage made in 1681]

Thomas Smalebones and Ann his wife surrendered 6 ridges in Winslow in the Mill Feild between the Old Mill and the New Mill in a furlong called Bubbles Gore or Mill Furlong. 5 of them lie together, the land of Widow Kirby south. [blank] the land of John Seaton south. to the use of Thomas Deely jr who sought admission. Rent [blank], fine 4s.

Mary Shelton widow surrendered a parcel of land lying between the wall of her malthouse and the end of the house in which Henry Tyms now lives, 28 feet long and 16 feet wide from the end of the house to the wall of the malthouse, as now bounded. To the use of Henry Tyms, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 1s.

Thomas Wright surrendered the messuage with buildings in which he now lives situated in the Beast Markett in Winslow (except the garden) to the use of himself and his wife Ann for their lives, then to their joint heirs, or, for lack of such, to his own heirs. They sought to be admitted tenants. Fine 5s.
[This was probably the messuage in Cow Street which Ann's son and grandson mortgaged in 1732]

[f.2r] Hugh Seaton sr died since the last court seised of 1 acre of land in Winslow in South Cotsmoe [sic] in Old Mill Feild, the land now or late Mr Palmer's west, the land of the Vicarage east. Richard Seaton his son is nearest heir and sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 2s. Richard surrendered a half-acre in South Cutsmoe [sic] to the use of John Seaton of Winslow, who sought to be admitted. Rent [blank], fine 2s.

Mary Gyrle, who held 5 acres of land in Winslow for her life, has died since the last court. Thomas Pitkin is her son and nearest heir, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 10s.
Thomas Pitkin and Ann his wife surrendered 6 acres of land in Winslow which lately came into the lord's hands by the death of Mary Girle his mother or Thomas Pitkin his father. To the use of William Wyatt sr of Shipton, butcher, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 12s.
[Mary Pitkin received 5 acres of land from her mother Frances Lowndes in 1654, and Thomas Pitkin received 1 acre in Dudslow from his brother-in-law Robert Lowndes at the same time. Mary was not buried at Winslow and had probably moved away.]

William Varney and Elizabeth his wife surrendered 2 closes of pasture in Winslow containing 8 acres, the public road leading from Great Horwood to Winslow west, late the land of Edward Palmer. To the use of Richard Purchase of Winslow, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 16s.
[This land may be what was later known as Gubblesgore, or next to the present Great Horwood Road]

John Studsberry and Elizabeth his wife surrendered 1 acre of land over Orrill hill in New Mill Feild, the land of William Lowndes gent. north. to the use of John Greene and Emma his wife, who sought to be admitted tenants. Rent 3d, fine 2s.

John Studsberry surrendered the messuage in which he now lives and 1 acre of land adjoining. To the use of John and his wife Elizabeth for their lives, then to their joint heirs, or, for lack of such, to John's heirs. John and Elizabeth sought to be admitted tenants. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

Thomas Ward and Arthur Smith brought forward here in court a writing to be recorded, whose tenor follows:

Bee it knowne unto all men by these p(re)sents That John Robinson of Virginia Planter Sonne and heire of John Robinson late of Islington in the County of Midd(lese)x hath made Constituted and appointed And by these p(re)sents Doth make Constitute and appoint Thomas Ward Richard Barton Arthur Smith and Thomas Oakely his true and Lawfull Attorneyes Irrevocable joyntly and severally in his name and stead at the next Court Leete and Court Baron or Generall Court Baron to bee holden for the Mannor of Winslow cum Membris in the County of Buck to Surrender into the hands of the Lords of the said Mannor by the hands of their Steward  All that Cottage with th'appurten(an)ces in Little Horwood wherein Humphry Bunce and Anne Bunce doe now Dwell and inhabit  To the Use and behoofe of Thomas Woodward of Little Horwood af(oresai)d Taylor and of the heires and Assignes of the said Thomas Woodward for ever hereby ratifyeing confirming and alloweing all or whatsoever my said Attorneyes or any of them shall Lawfully doe or cause to bee done in or about the same in as full and ample and beneficiall manner to all intents and purposes as if the said John Robinson party to these p(re)sents were personally p(re)sent in the said Court at the doeing thereof   In Witnesse whereof the said John Robinson hath hereunto sett his hand and seale the 26th day of July in the xxxvth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God of \England/ Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. [=1683]

Thomas Ward and Arthur Smith surrendered the cottage in Little Horwood to the use of Thomas Woodward. Fine 5s.

John Studsberry and Elizabeth his wife surrendered 3 acres of land in Winslow:

To the use of John Channell and William Channell his son. John sought to be admitted tenant. Rent 1s, fine 6s.

James Howes and Ann his wife surrendered a close of pasture in Winslow called Ash Close containing 1 acre, the land of Mr Gyles east, Thomas Neele west. To the use of Mathew Bishopp who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 2s.

William Holt died since the last court seised of a cottage in Shipton. Ephraim Holt his eldest son is nearest heir and sought to be admitted tenant. Fine 5s. Ephrain and his wife Elionor then surrendered the cottage to the use of William Cooke and Elizabeth his wife, who sought to be admitted tenants. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

[f2v = D175/18/2] On 15 Oct 1680 William Retchford Clerk surrendered by the steward a messuage in Winslow to the use of Thomas Tomlyn, on condition that if Thomas did not pay him various sums of money his estate would be void. William has died since the last court and John Retchford Clerk is his nepos [grandson / nephew] and heir and sought to be admitted tenant. Fine 10s.

Thomas Moncke gent. through Joseph Moncke his attorney surrendered 6 acres in various furlongs in Blackgrove Feild in Shipton. To the use of Thomas Blake, who sought to be admitted tenant. Rent [blank], fine 12s.

John Greene and Emma his wife surrendered a messuage in Winslow in which John now lives, with privileges of ingress etc. It was surrendered by Michael Norman deceased to the use of John Bletchley gent. deceased, Emma's late husband, as by copy of court roll bearing date 19 April 1664 appears. To the use of John Duncombe of East Claydon, who sought to be admitted tenant. Fine 5s.
Procedure of common recovery: John Nonne gent. claimed the messuage against John Duncombe, who called to warranty John and Emma Greene. They called Robert Gibbs. John Nonne was to recover seisin. He and John Duncombe then surrendered the messuage to the use of John and Emma Greene. Rent [blank], fine 5s. They then surrendered it to John Duncombe on condition that if they pay him £42 on 27 Oct 1684 the surrender will be void.
[John Bletchley, apothecary,was buried on 9 July 1670. He married Emma Low at Great Linford in 1657. She was the mother of Raynes Low(e), d.1675.]
