Summary

On 13 March 1840 appeared Catherine Elizabeth Brise of Shipton and alleged that she is the widow of John Brise, dairyman, who died intestate on 11 Nov last. The goods did not amount to £1,500.

Administration bond for £3,000 granted to Catherine Elizabeth Brise of Shipton, widow; Samuel Gamaliel Aveline the elder of Swanbourne, gentleman; Samuel Gamaliel Aveline the younger of Great Horwood, baker.

Catherine is to make an inventory by the last day of September, and accompt by the last day of March 1841.

Notes

John Brise was born in 1799, son of John Brise of Swanbourne. He married Catherine Elizabeth Aveline at Swanbourne in 1827. He lived from 1832 at Red Hall Farm (q.v. for an account of his accidental death aged 40). He was a tenant of the Selby-Lowndes estate.

In 1843 Elizabeth Brise the widow married Thomas Brooks of Swanbourne, farmer.
