[Latin] Seal of Henry[?] Clements
Inventory presented by Henry Clements, administrator, on 2 March 1580.
Notes
The burial of John Clements is not recorded at Winslow. He was one of the overseers of the will of Thomas Fige, 1580. He was recorded as a vintner in the 1577 Certificates of Alehouses (where three of his four appraisers are listed as keeping inns or alehouses). The names of the rooms correspond closely with those of The Bell in the inventory of Anthony Jackson, 1591. John Clements almost certainly kept The Bell from before 1577 to 1581.
Ru(n)let: a cask or barrel (Bucks Probate Inventories)
Ostrye = hostry = hostelry (OED)
Tru(m)pery: worthless stuff (OED)
signe: presumably the inn sign
