In etc. 12 October 1477 I Geoffrey Kyng of the parish of Wynselowe, sound of mind, make, etc., and my body to be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of Greneburgh. Item I bequeath to the high altar of St Laurence of the church of Wynselowe 2 bushels of barley. Item to the altar of St Mary 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Mary in purification 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Nicholas 1 bushel of barley. Item to the altar of St Thomas the martyr[?] 1 bushel of barley. Item to the light of the holy cross 2 bushels of barley. Item to the repair of the torches 2 bushels of barley. Item to the maintenance or for the use of the parish church of Greneburgh one bullock. The residue etc. I give and bequeath to my executors. And I ordain, make and appoint Henry Tomlyns and John Boton my executors to dispose for the salvation of my soul as, etc., Given on the day and year written above.
Probate on 24 July 1478 and they were dismissed.
Notes
This is probably the Geoffrey Kyng who inherited a messuage and virgate in Granborough from his brother John in 1456 (Winslow Manor Court Books, p.693). He also inherited a messuage and enclosure of 5 acres from their mother Alice in 1426 (p.496).
