Philip Budd jr died since the last court seised of 5 acres. John Budd is his brother and next heir. Heriot arises. On 13 Oct last he surrendered by Thomas Henley and Simon Hogson all his holdings to the use of his will. It is not known if he made his will. 1st proclamation made for his heirs. [read will]
Robert Elliott died since the last court seised of a messuage and 8 acres. Robert Elliott jr is his son and next heir, of full age. Heriot arises. On 27 Dec last he surrendered by Charles Bowler and William Elliott all his holdings to the use of his will. It is not known if he made his will. 1st proclamation made for his heirs. [read will]
Catherine Eden widow and Robert Eden on 3 Oct last surrendered by the steward a messuage or messuages in the Sheepstreet in Winslowe in the occupation of Benjamin Burrall and John Seaton jr with houses, outhouses, buildings, yards, backyards. To the use of Benjamin Saunders of Winslowe baker, on condition that the surrender is to be void if they pay him £30 and 5% interest within 6 months. Benjamin did not come; 1st proclamation made.
Edward Reddall on 5 Nov last surrendered by the steward part of a cottage in his own occupation
[f.2r] as it was then divided with barns, yards, backyards, part of the tenement lately bought by Edward from John Henley and Hester his wife. To Edward's use for his life, then to Edward Reddall jr one of his sons and Joan his wife for their lives, then to the right heirs of Edward jr. Edward sr, Edward jr and Joan did not come. 1st proclamation made.

John Deely and Elizabeth his wife on 7 Nov last surrendered a "Platt" of arable land and grassland in Hollow Furrow Feild adjoining Grove Leys on which "a Brick kiln" now stands containing 4 acres. To the use of John, Joseph, Matthew, Anthony and Daniel Deely, on trust that they should be bought [sic] for the best price which can be got and with the money arising from such purchase [sic], and until such purchase is made they should pay Martha Deely widow £5 p.a. in quarterly payments beginning next Feast of St Thomas the Apostle. And on the further trust to place the money arising from the purchase out at interest during Martha's life, and after her decease on trust to pay to the said John Deely £4 when his wife joins in such a purchase, and then to pay to John, Joseph, Matthew, Anthony and Daniel Deely the residue of the money, deducting expenses. John, Joseph, Matthew, Anthony and Daniel were called and did not come. 1st proclamation made.
[The sale followed the instructions of their father Thomas Deely's will. The land was bought by William Lowndes (see below).]
Rebeccah Hughes spinster, Thomas Worrall and Elizabeth his wife, Samuel Foster clerk and Alice his wife, Richard Norris and Hester his wife, customary tenants, on 23 Jan 1715/16 surrendered by the steward:
- a cottage at Hanging Stile in Winslowe with houses, outhouses, buildings, barns, stables, yards, backyards
- a "slip" or parcel of land adjoining, lately being between the houses and yards late in the occupation of Henry Hughes and Richard Tring
- a slip or piece of land on which "a fence" of posts and "pales" at "the corner" of the house late Richard Tring's now stands
- liberty to put and place a post [posticum] at the corner of the domicile late Richard Tring's 6 inches square, and to put other posts and pales "to range directe and even and strait" from the 6 inch square post on the east to the post standing within "the fence" late Henry Hughes' and belonging to the said surrendered premisses
- liberty to come into the land late Richard Tring's and Margaret his wife's and Sarah Hobcroft's "to drive nails homeward" and repair such posts and pales at all "reasonable times" when there is reason (reserving to Margaret lately wife of Richard Tring and Sarah Hobcroft and her heirs liberty at all reasonable times to come into the Chewre at the south side of the house late in the occupation of Richard Tring to repair the domicile as often as there is reason).
All which surrendered premisses are now in the occupation of Thomas Worrall. To the use of Thomas Mayne of Addington gent., on condition that the surrender is to be void if Thomas Worrall pays him £50 with interest on 24 July next at Thomas Mayne's domicile in Addington. Thomas Mayne was called and did not come. 1st proclamation made.

William Lowndes sr esq., customary tenant, and Rebecca his wife on 1 Feb last surrendered by the steward all the lands in Blackgrove Feild of Shipton containing 16½ acres lately William and Dorcas Elliott's, to which William Lowndes was admitted at the court on 30 Sep last, and all his pieces of land dispersed in the common fields of Shipton containing 12 acres, with common of pasture for 2 cows, late Thomas Henley's, to which William Lowndes was admitted at the same court on the surrender of Thomas Henley and Elizabeth his wife. To the use of William Lowndes' will.

William Mead and Sarah his wife surrendered a cottage in Winslowe in which Elizabeth Norman lately lived, now in the occupation of Samuel Wilston, with orchards, gardens, backyards. To the use of Samuel Wilston. Rent ¾d, fine 5s.
Henry Townsend jr sought admission to a messuage and all other holdings late of William Townsend his father deceased: a messuage and 5½ acres

To the use of Robert for his life, then to William Gibbs one of his sons, on condition that William pays £50 within 12 months of Robert's decease to such persons as Robert directs in his will. To the use of Charles Challoner of Middle Cleydon gent. and Joseph Eyres of Middle Cleydon Yeoman. On condition that the surrender is to be void if Henry and Mary pay to the Rt Hon. John Viscount Fermanagh £93 (due from Henry King to him for arrears of rent of closes, lands and tenements in Middle Cleydon on 25 March last), with interest from 6 Sep, at the Viscount's domicile in Middle Cleydon. And if Henry pays the Viscount all such sums as afterwards become due for rent within a month of the times when the rent is due. Rent [blank], fine 5s.

Thomas Mayne of Addington sought admission to a cottage at Hanging Stile [described as above] which came into the lord's hands on the surrender of 23 Jan 1715 presented at the court on 6 April last.
[f.2r] Robert Elliott sought admission to a messuage and 8 acres of land which came into the lord's hands on the death and surrender of Robert Elliott his father presented at the court on 6 April last. Rent [blank], fine 16s.
John Henley and Henry Townsend sought admission to the messuage or cottage in Shipton in which Mary Tomlin and Thomas George lately lived, and also to the equity of redemption of a "pightle" of "sweard ground" adjoining Mary Tomlin's house from the pales there to the west, and to the hedge next to the Saw pitt in Shipton, John Wyatt's house north. The premises came into the lord's hands on the surrender of Mary Tomlin widow at the court on 30 Sep 1715. They were admitted on the trust contained in the surrender. Rent ½d, fine 5s.

To the use of Henry Townsend sr of Shipton Yeoman for his life. Then to the use of Mary, now Henry's wife, and Emma Line his daughter for their lives. After their deceases, to the use of Henry Lyne, Emma's son, in perpetuity. Rent 4d, fine 5s. Henry Lyne's fealty was respited.
John Henley and Henry Townsend surrendered the equity of redemption of a pightle of sweard ground [as above]. To the use of John Wyatt of Shipton gent, on condition that the surrender is to be void if John Henley and Henry Townsend pay him "the principal summe" of £10 with interest from 30 Sep 1715 on 25 March next. Rent [blank], fine [blank].
Robert Eden sr carpenter surrendered 1 acre of ley in Sheep Coat Furlong extending to the cottage now in his own occupation. To the use of Benjamin Saunders of Winslowe baker, on condition that the surrender is to be void if Robert pays him £15 7s 6d on 11 April next. Rent [blank], fine [blank].
John Wyatt of Shipton gent. sought admission to the "pightle" adjoining the house of Mary Hopkins [sic] (late widow of Edward Tomlin) [as above]. Seisin granted under the condition in Mary's surrender. Rent [blank], fine [blank].

William Lowndes esq. customary tenant and Rebecca his wife surrendered all the following copyhold messuages, lands etc. in Winslowe and Shipton:
- A messuage with orchard and backyard lately William Holloway LLD's in Shipton and 42½ acres of land in Shipton and Winslowe with common for 7 cows in the Cowpasture of Shipton. They were acquired by William Lowndes from William Holloway and particularly described in a "Common Recovery" and surrender at the court on 31 March 1703
- A messuage in Winslow lately John Stutsbury's with barns, stables, houses, "malthouses", yards, gardens, buildings, which were surrendered by John Stutsbury and others to William Lowndes at the court on 1-2 Oct 1703
- A "toft" or piece of land on which a cottage lately stood in Shipton near the house lately William Wyatt deceased's, and the close and backyard adjoining containing 3 roods, which were surrendered by John Seaton yeoman and Elizabeth his wife to William Lowndes at the court on 25 May 1705. And afterwards they were "laid into" the close or backyard lately William Holloway's.
- All the pieces of land in the common fields of Shipton lately John Henley's, containing by measurement 16 acres 3 roods 11 perches, and 3 acres in The Cowpasture of Shipton and common of pasture for 6 cows, and 6 acres of "leys" in the Cowpasture without any common for cows, all acquired by William Lowndes from John Henley and others, and particularly described in the surrender on which William Lowndes was admitted at the court on 22 Oct 1705
- All the separate pieces of land dispersed in the fields of Shipton containing by estimation 18 acres lately Henry Townsend's, particularly described in a surrender made by him and others on which William Lowndes was admitted at the court held on 21 July 1706
- The piece of land called Bradford Peice containing by estimation 12 acres in the field of Winslowe, a half-acre of land at Nantditch, and the land containing 20 acres by estimation in the fields of Shipton. They were acquired by William Lowndes from Joseph Dandridge and are particularly described in a surrender made by him and Martha his wife on which William Lowndes was admitted at the court held on 21 June [sic] 1706.
- All the parcels of land in the fields of Winslowe containing by estimation 13½ acres which William Lowndes acquired from Augustine Seaton, Mary his wife and Elizabeth Seaton widow, and are particularly described in an absolute surrender made by them to William Lowndes at the court on 25 June 1707
- 2 acres of land in Coldham Furlong lately Thomas Whiteing's, described in a surrender made by him and his wife to William Lowndes at the court on 22-23 April 1708
- A messuage in or near the Sheep Street now or late in the occupation of Richard Benbow, and a cottage lately built "behind the same" which was in the occupation of Widow Hodgekins, acquired by William Lowndes from Thomas Foster and Elizabeth his wife and absolutely surrendered by them at the court on 9 May 1709
- A messuage with orchard and garden adjoining in Winslowe now or late in the tenure of Peter Goldsworth, and 40 acres of land in Winslowe and Shipton now or late in the tenure of Thomas Henley, all part of the customary hereditaments of William Elliot deceased. By his surrender and last will they came to Joseph Dandridge, who surrendered them to William Lowndes at the court on 28 Aug 1710.
- A close of pasture called Great Cowmead Close containing 8 acres in Winslowe to which William Lowndes was admitted at the court on 16 April 1711 on various surrenders by John Spooner, brother and heir of Thomas Spooner deceased, and Robert Spooner and Ann his wife
- A messuage in Shipton lately Thomas Miller's with a close or garden adjoining, and a close called Dean Close, and 6 acres of land in the fields of Shipton and common of pasture for 3 cows and 2 pieces of "Lott hedge" in the precincts of Shipton, all lately acquired by William Lowndes from Thomas Miller, and surrendered by him and his wife at the court on 18 Oct 1714

[f.4r] at the court on 30 Sep 1715, and all other lands which were William and Dorcas Elliott's in Blackgrove Feild "comprehended" in the same surrender - a messuage in Shipton now or late in the possession of Henry Townsend or his subtenants, a close adjoining lying for 1 acre, and 40 acres (with the close) in the fields of Shipton with common of pasture for 5 cows, and all other customary lands which were Henry Townsend's or Mary his wife's or Emma Line's (one of Henry's daughters) or Edward Collier's or Jane his wife's (another daughter) or Joan Townsend spinster's (the other daughter), all surrendered, recovered and "assured" at this court to the use of William Lowndes
- a messuage in Winslow lately Grant Hewett's and various closes containing about 6½ acres, surrendered at this court
- all William Lowndes' other customary lands and tenements held of the manor of Winslow, and all William Lowndes' "shares" in any customary lands and tenements held of the manor of Winslow
Excepting all such customary lands and tenements as were surrendered to the use of William Lowndes on trust or for security of principal money now due and unpaid, except those equities of redemption "foreclosed" by absolute surrender. The lands surrendered by William Lowndes and Rebecca his wife contain by estimation 286 acres. The surrender is to the use of Charles Shales of London Goldsmith and Peter Lowndes of Winslow Yeoman, on trust for such uses to be declared in certain indentures dated 10 Oct 1716 between William Lowndes of the one part and Charles Shales and Peter Lowndes of the other part, or from time to time as appointed in "pursuance" of the indenture, and for no other use. Charles Shales by John Wyatt his attorney and Peter Lowndes in his own person sought admission. Rent [blank], fine £16 12s.
[ff.4r, 4v, 5r: English] Indenture made 10 Oct 1716 between (1) William Lowndes the Elder of Chesham esq. (2) Charles Shales of London Goldsmith & Peter Lowndes of Winslow Yeoman. The trustees "shall permitt & suffer the said Wm Lowndes ... to receive take & enjoy the rents issues & proffitts" for his life. After his decease they shall permit Robert Lowndes, eldest son & heir apparent, to receive the rents etc for his life. After his decease they shall permit Wm Lowndes (first son of Robert) to receive the rents for his life. Then his sons and their heirs males. For default of such issue they shall permit Richard Lowndes (second son of Robert) to receive the rents. Other provisions if he has no issue. Daniel and John also surrendered 1 acre of arable land with the "hadland" adjoining in the Old Mill Feild in the Old Mill Furlong, leading on the north side towards Kenistons Close. To the use of Benjamin Saunders and Elizabeth his wife for their lives, then to Frances and Ann Saunders their daughters for their lives, then to be divided equally between the heirs of their bodies, or to Benjamin's rightful heirs. Daniel and John also surrendered the messuage in which John Seaton deceased lately lived in Winslowe with houses, outhouses, buildings, barns, stables, yards, orchards, gardens. To the use of John Shelton of Winslowe Blacksmith and Robert Gibbs jr of Winslow Cooper. On trust to permit Daniel to hold for his life, then by mortgage or "demise" to pay £5 to each brother and sister of John surviving at Daniel's death "in discharge" of the sums burdened on the premisses and other lands, viz. 4 acres surrendered to Mr Richard Bigg and 1 acre to Benjamin Saunders, by surrender of John Seaton deceased presented at the court on 30 Sep 1709. In default of such payment, on trust for such brothers and sisters and their heirs [until?] payment by the said John Seaton, then on trust for the said John Seaton and his heirs, John Seaton and his heirs indemnifying Richard Bigg, Benjamin Saunders and their heirs from the payment of the separate sums of £5, and from all costs which befall Richard Bigg, Benjamin Saunders, John Shelton & Robert Gibbs.
