Administration of Dorothy Elliot, 1684
Archdeaconry Court Acts Book, Herts RO ASA 7/37
[Latin] 18 June 1684: Robert Ellyott alleged that Dorothy Elliot alias Ellyot late of Winslow widow deceased 3 months ago died intestate and he was her natural son.
Notes
Most of the burial records for 1671 are missing. Dorothy Eliott (nee Tew) was buried on 19 March 1683/4. She and Robert were married on 30 June 1642. Robert was probably the son of George Elliot, bap. 4 June 1617. The children mentioned in the will were:
- George: bap. 28 May 1643, d.1705; he inherited a messuage and 44 acres in 1672
- Robert: bap. 30 Mar 1647, d.1716; he isn't mentioned in the will but received 14 acres and a newly built house from his father (after his mother's death) in a deathbed surrender of 20 April 1671
- Mary: bap. 29 May 1649
- Edward: b. 3 Nov, bap. 28 Nov 1656
Finched: with a white streak on its back
