BE IT KNOWN that William Ingram of Winslow in the County of Buckingham died on the 28th day of February 1928
AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at the date hereunder written the last will and Testament  of the said deceased was proved and registered at the District Probate Registry of His Majesty’s High Court of Justice at Oxford and that administration of all the Estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Sarah Ingram Widow the Relict and George Ingram Butcher the Son of the Deceased both of High Street Winslow aforesaid the Executors named in the said Will.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me WILLIAM INGRAM of Winslow in the County of Buckingham Butcher I appoint my Wife SARAH INGRAM and my son GEORGE INGRAM (hereinafter called my Trustees which expression where the context admits includes the survivor of them and the executors or administrators of such survivor or other the Trustees or Trustee for the time being hereof) to be the Executors and Trustees of my Will I GIVE all my wearing apparel and my gold watch and chain to my said son George Ingram absolutely I BEQUEATH such of my plate plated articles linen china glass books pictures prints furniture and other household effects as my said Wife Sarah Ingram may select unto my Trustees Upon trust that my Trustees shall permit my said Wife to use and enjoy the same during her widowhood and after her death or second marriage whichever shall first happen shall hold the same In trust to divide the same equally between my said son George Ingram and my daughters Muriel Grace Midgley and Bessie Turner or such of them as shall be living at the decease or second marriage of my said Wife And my Trustees shall not be bound to see to the preservation of such articles or as to their insurance nor be answerable for any loss or injury which may happen thereto during the widowhood of my said Wife I BEQUEATH all the residue of of my plate plated articles linen china glass books pictures prints furniture and other household effects unto and equally between my said children George Ingram Muriel Grace Midgley and Bessie Turner I confirm in all respects the Deed of Partnership entered into by me with my said son George Ingram dated the Third day of December One thousand nine hundred and twenty I DEVISE my house shop buildings yard garden and premises adjoining the High Street in Winslow aforesaid now in my occupation and the first yard Coach houses stabling harness-room loose box and buildings and the loft above the buildings and also the second yard and cowsheds all at the back of Staniford House in Winslow aforesaid and also my field known as Cowpasture situate in the Swanbourne Road To the use of  my said son George Ingram his heirs and assigns subject and charged with the payment to my said Wife Sarah Ingram of an annuity of Sixty eight Pounds during her widowhood to commence from my death and be payable weekly and the first payment thereof to be made as soon as maybe after my death and subject to all powers and remedies for recovering and raising the same I DEVISE my house in Winslow aforesaid known as Staniford House with the courtyard barn and little loft over the barn To the use of to my said Wife Sarah Ingram during her widowhood without impeachment of waste And after the death or second marriage of my said Wife whichever shall first happen To the use of my said daughter Bessie Turner her heirs and assigns absolutely I declare that the reason I have made no specific devise to my daughter Muriel Grace Midgley is that I have already made over to her the property I formerly intended to leave to her at my decease I DEVISE my house and premises situate in the Station Road Winslow aforesaid now in the occupation of Mrs Johnson To the use of to my said Wife Sarah Ingram and her assigns during her widowhood without impeachment of waste And after the death or second marriage of my said Wife whichever shall first happen unto my Trustees Upon trust to sell the same either by Public Auction or Private Contract and after payment out of the proceeds of the expenses attending such sale to divide the balance the remaining unto and equally between and among my said children George Ingram Muriel Grace Midgley and Bessie Turner I DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all the rest and residue of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said Wife Sarah Ingram absolutely subject nevertheless to the payment of my funeral expenses Lastly I revoke all testamentary disposition heretofore made by me IN WITNESS whereof I the said William Ingram the testator have hereunto set my hand this  Twenty first day of October One thousand nine hundred and twenty two

Notes

William Ingram was born in 1853, the son of William Ingram, groom and gardener (d.1894). In the 1880s he took over from his brother George Ingram the butcher's business at 12 High Street previously run by their uncle Thomas Turnham. In 1881 he married Sarah, daughter of William Grace (d.1900) who kept the Rose & Crown. Sarah died in 1933 aged 78. The children mentioned in the will are:
